SIGNING CLUB IN FORT COLLINS

Excerpts -- email: bsimms@holly.ColoState.EDU
from Brian Simms, 21 February 1997:

Here at Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins we started a new sign language club last semester, and now have over 40 members, hearing and deaf, students and non-students.

We meet every Monday, 4:00 PM, in the Lory Student Center, room 207, CSU, to talk, play, and have fun. We also do group activities bimonthly -- trips to Denver for deaf plays and captioned movies, "to cool restaurants". Locally, we also do bowling, BBQs, ice-skating, snow-shoeing, etc. The club has been a wonderful way to meet other signers, to raise awareness of Deaf and signing issues, and to have a great time!
